Anton is a creative and open-minded musician whose artistic freedom enables him to escape the confines of specific musical styles. Striving for connections between everything related to music, he looks for crossovers between different musical styles and cultures and dares to deviate from the regular repertoire by making unconventional choices.
In addition to his classical interests, Anton has a great love for contemporary improvised music and jazz. Organist Jan Hage and Anton form a duo specialising in performing challenging contemporary music. Anton currently plays in the David Kweksilber Bigband.
In 2001 Anton gained his bachelor (in Dutch: 1st phase) in Trumpet Classical music at the Rotterdam Conservatory, graduating with honours. His Masters followed (in Dutch: 2nd phase) at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, specialising in solo performance and chamber music. He also specialised in playing the piccolo trumpet which he plays in the Residentie Bach Ensemble, amongst others.
During and after his studies Anton played as a substitute with several orchestras and ensembles including the Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest (Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra), de Marinierskapel der Koninklijke Marine (Marine Band of the Dutch Royal Navy), Het Nederlands Blazers Ensemble (The Dutch Wind Ensemble) and Orkest de Volharding (the Perseverance Orchestra).
